| It is with tremendous sorrow that we note the passing of Past Distinguished Governor, Armando J. "Al" Alfaro. Al passed away on Sunday, February 22nd following a brief illness. Al became an Optimist in 1957 and served as Distinguished Governor of the Kentucky-West Virginia District in the 1963-64 Optimist year. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Kentucky Historical Society Foundation, 100 West Broadway, Frankfort, KY 40601 or the Kentucky National Guard Memorial Fund.
